Pregnancy, Pollen, and Asthma

allergy-pregenancy

A study in Sweden found that high levels of pollen exposure during late pregnancy were associated with an elevated risk of the infant being hospitalized for asthma within the first year of life. However, the potential mechanism involved in this association remains to be explored.https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/01/130107082228.htm https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23134739

FIRST AID FOR POISON IVY, OAK AND SUMAC

hwkb17_017_18_19

POISON IVY, OAK AND SUMAC: DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT
To treat a rash from poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac and help stop the itch, dermatologists recommend the following:

  1. Immediately rinse your skin with lukewarm, soapy water.
  2. Wash your clothing.
  3. Wash everything that may have the oil on its surface.
  4. Do not scratch, as scratching can cause an infection.
  5. Leave blisters alone.
  6. Take short, lukewarm baths.
  7. Consider calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream.
  8. Apply cool compresses to the itchy skin.
  9. Consider taking antihistamine pills.

If your rash is not improving after seven to 10 days, or you think your rash may be infected, see a board-certified dermatologist. A dermatologist can treat your rash and any infection and help relieve the itch.

Press Release – Express Rx Acquires Cantrell Drug Company’s Retail Business

Express Rx Acquires Cantrell Drug Company’s Retail Business

Now One of Few Pharmacies in State to Offer Specialty Compounding

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 22, 2016) – Express Rx today announced its acquisition of Cantrell Drug Company’s retail pharmacy and compounding operations. With this purchase, Express Rx is one of the few pharmacies in the state with the capability to provide patient-specific medications that are not commercially available.

“Express Rx has continually invested in new technologies and services to improve our customers’ experiences,” said Galen Perkins, CEO and principal of Express Rx. “We are excited to be one of a handful of pharmacies in Arkansas to offer specialty compounding services.”

As of Friday, February 19, Express Rx assumed control of Cantrell Drug Company’s retail prescriptions and expert compounding services. This move will allow ExpressRx to offer medications with strengths and dosages tailored to meet patients’ specific medical needs. Cantrell Drug Company will maintain its sterile compounding business on Cantrell Road and at its new Little Rock National Airport location.
“We know that our customers’ time is valuable,” said Kent Vinson, pharmacist and co-owner, “Express Rx is looking forward to providing our customers with both retail prescription and expert compounding services—all at one convenient location.”

In May 2013, four former USA Drug executives joined forces to open the first Express Rx. It has since expanded its independently owned pharmacies to 45 employees and five locations in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. A sixth store opening is scheduled for April. Every store offers modern day conveniences, including free delivery, online ordering, automated refills and a drive-through, while maintaining a small town service-driven niche.

NoseFrida. The Snotsucker.

NoseFrida

We now have NoseFrida. The Snotsucker. NoseFrida is a safe and effective nasal aspirator used to relieve your little one’s stuffy nose.  To use you simply place the large tube against the child’s nostril, creating a seal.  Then use the red mouth piece to suck out the snot.  Now, I know your thinking “That sounds disgusting”,  but there is a filter that prevents the transfer of mucus or bacteria.  After use, simply wash the tube with soap and water.   I have personally used this product with my child, and I highly recommend it!  Get your NoseFrida at Express Rx of Sherwood Today!
